Australia is focusing on Gaza, Austria has town pilgrimages. Brazil has seminary students debating conflict over “holy” land. Canadians, Scots, Norwegians, British and French are making contact with lawmakers. Directors of church-related aid agencies are visiting Israeli and Palestinian partner organizations. And on the high Wall that hems in Bethlehem, Palestinians are “showing” prayers at night.

UnitingCare and Congregational Outreach Activities

  • UnitingCare West Rainbow Project invites all those with psychiatric disabilities, carers and friends to a combined evening worship at 6.00pm followed by supper. Held at Manning Uniting Church on the first Sunday in the month, Mandurah Uniting Church second Sunday of the month and St Luke’s Anglican Church Maylands on the fourth Sunday of the month. It is a short reflective service, affirming and supportive to all who suffer or have been touched by mental illness. Come along and hear the stories.   • Leadership in Mission and Evangelism (LIME) is a continuing education intensive being held 15 – 19 June 2009 at Perth Theological Hall, Murdoch University. German church takes stand against Philippines abuse

More than 1000 candles will be lit on 22 May in the German city of Bremen to call attention to political killings in the Philippines. The initiative, dubbed “Sumabay Tayo! Walking together – for justice!“ commemorates the deaths of more than 1000 persons who have been summarily executed since 2001 under the administration of Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
