The Grand Plan is a new vision for the care of older Australians which has been launched by the Campaign for Care of Older Australians (CCOA), a joint initiative of many of Australia’s aged care providers, including UnitingCare.
During 19-22 June 2010, UnitingWorld joined more than 300 concerned Christians from across Australia in Canberra to participate in Voices for Justice, an annual event of Micah Challenge Australia which aims to further the commitment of Australian political leaders to fulfil their pledge to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The Uniting Church in Australia has congratulated Australia’s first female Prime Minister, Julia Gillard.
Acting President of the Uniting Church National Assembly, Rev Gregor Henderson, said he hoped Ms Gillard would serve as a role model for young people to show that Australia really does offer a ‘fair go’ for all people, regardless of their class, gender or race.
On Wednesday 16 June, the province of Papua, Indonesia, was hit by a series of earthquakes, just south of Biak. Reports say that the death toll has now reached 17 and that 4600 people have been left homeless as the earthquake has destroyed over 2500 houses in the area. Continue reading
