South Perth Uniting Church is holding their Women’s Weekend Away from 17–19 June.
Come and follow the journey of ordinary women doing extraordinary things as three women from three different generations will share their experiences. Join in for a truly inspirational weekend away.

First Third Ministry One Day Conference

The First Third Ministry One Day Conference will explore an approach to youth ministry that is wholistic, integrated and across the board, whether you have 2 or 200 young people in your congregation.
It will be held on Saturday 28 May at Noranda Uniting Church, 9.30am–4.30pm. Cost is $25 per person or free for rural participants. Lunch is $5.

  • Duncraig Uniting Church has a multi-function copier/printer/scanner (Sharp AR M160) with a new toner cartridge that they would like to see go to a congregation or outreach service. It is 5yrs old and has had low usage, is appropriate for small office printing and is available for a donation (suggested $200 but negotiable). Also available is a small computer desk on castors.   • Rev Margaret Tyrer, minister at Claremont St Aidan’s Uniting church, is looking to purchase a couple of good, unmarked copies of the red Uniting in Worship Leader’s Book, first printed in 1988.   • The Cross-Cultural Workshop, as part of Multicultural Ministry’s Cross-Cultural Ministry Conference, will be held on Saturday 18 June, 10.00am–5.00pm.   • The Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA) has launched a new-look website providing publications, statistics, resource lists, personal stories from former refugees and responses to common myths. Visit the new site at www.refugeecouncil.org.au.
  • The Support Association for the Women of Afghanistan is holding an afternoon with Samira Nabizadah who will be sharing her story of coming from Afghanistan at age 11 and adapting to life in Australia.   • GetUp!’s National Day of Action aims to change the debate over a carbon price from fear mongering over the cost of action, to awareness raising about the possibility of a clean energy future. Fourteen-year old Gudiya Putul is not in Kingston, Jamaica attending the International Ecumenical Peace Convocation (IEPC), but her name and history were brought to the attention of some IEPC participants on Saturday during a workshop about economic injustice and human trafficking.
