Sunday Coffee Forum

All Saints Floreat Uniting Church invite you to a free Sunday Coffee Forum with Dr Sue Gordon AM. Sue was appointed as the Commissioner for Aboriginal Planning in 1986, becoming the first Aboriginal person to head a government department in WA.
The forum will be held on Sunday 3 July at the church, 50 Berkely Crescent, Floreat, 11.00am–12.00noon.

Trinity North Celebration Service

Trinity North Uniting Church is the new congregational name for the Uniting Churches of Carine, Duncraig & Greenwood.
A Combined Celebratory Service will be held on Sunday 26 of June (Trinity Sunday) to celebrate the new Trinity North congregation.
The service will be held at the Performing Arts Complex of Carine Senior High School, Osmaston Road, Carine, 9.30am.

Website Training Session

The Next Website Training Session will be held on Saturday 9 July in the Tero Room at Glen Forrest Uniting Church, 9.30am.

Ordination of Emma Matthews

Emma Matthews will be ordained as a Deacon at Mount Pleasant Uniting Church on Saturday 16 July, 2.00pm.
She will be inducted into her placement as Chaplain at Penrhos College in August.
All are invited to attend.

Church Membership Discussion: one congregation’s journey

Discussion about how membership of the Uniting Church will be defined has been going on for a number of years. A discussion paper has been circulated for comment, and can be downloaded here. Assembly has requested responses from presbyteries by 31 August 2011, and WA the issue was discussed at the May Presbytery of WA meeting. However, there is still time to add your thoughts. To get you thinking, Rev Rick Williams from Carramar Congregation has shared the story of how they have approached membership in a new and growing congregation. You can add your comments to the end of this story, and these will be collated as part of WA’s response. The ASC will consider the responses in November 2011 and a report and recommendations will be presented to the 13th Assembly.
