Prayer in the Old Testament – week one

Scarborough Uniting Church will be presenting sessions on Prayer in the Old Testament, over the four Sunday Evenings in August at the church, cnr Northstead and Moorland Sts, Scarborough.

The sessions will be led by Dr Sue Boorer, lecturer in Old Testament at Murdoch University.

A soup and sandwich tea will be held at 5.30pm, followed by the session at 6.30pm. Soup will be provided, please bring sandwiches.

Make Ministry Happen Sunday

Make Ministry Happen Sunday is a new initiative to encourage Uniting Church members to join ministry. It will be held on Sunday 28 August.

Worship leaders are encouraged to create special liturgies to invite the people to pray that God raise leaders for the church.

Those interested in knowing more about the Minister of the Word, Deacon or Pastor are invited to the Explore the Ministry Day on 10 September.

Lunchtime Forum: Social Media II

The next Lunchtime Forum will be held on Social Media II. Bring your lunch and learn how to use social media such as Facebook and Twitter for personal or church use.

Metro North Regional Gathering

The next Metro North Regional Gathering will be held at St Stephens Carramar Primary School on Saturday 6 August from 9.00am to 12noon.

Address is St Stephens Crescent Tapping. A discussion panel will present the subject of ‘Planting something new in the northern suburbs’.

Sustainable September

Sustainable September provides an opportunity to demonstrate sustainability in action and celebrate the people who are making it happen.

The Uniting Church Social Justice Board (WA) also makes worship resources available to congregations.

Micro-Credit – A bank designed to wipe out poverty lecture

The Catholic Social Justice Council and the Sisters of Our Lady of the Mission invites you to the Euphrasie Barbier Lecture and discussion ‘Micro-Credit – A Bank designed to wipe out poverty’.
