MINISTERIAL BENEFITS COMMITTEE

The Ministerial Benefits Committee is responsible for oversight of the benefits provided for ministers in placement. It undertakes periodic reviews, usually annually, of stipends and allowances for ministers. The Committee also acts as the Western Australian Advisory Committee for the Assembly Beneficiary Fund. Members of the Ministerial Benefits Committee are appointed by the Presbytery and include:

  • The Chairperson
  • An Associate General Secretary (Pastoral)
  • Not more than one other member of the Uniting Church Centre staff with responsibilities relating to the work of the Committee, selected by the General Secretary
  • The WA-based director of the Assembly Beneficiary Fund
  • Up to six persons elected annually by the Presbytery.

The Committee may co-opt up to two further members to ensure balanced representation or to provide the Committee with knowledge, abilities or experience which may be helpful and would not otherwise be available.
