CANDIDATES FOR MINISTRIES COMMISSION
The Candidates for Ministries Commission is responsible for those people who are called to the specified ministries of the Church. On behalf of the Presbytery of WA, it exercises responsibility for the selection, pastoral care and oversight of such candidates. The Commission oversees all those who are applying to become Ministry of Pastor or Minister of the Word/Deacon and also process the applications for former Uniting Church ministers who apply for re-admission. Members of the Candidates for the Ministries Commission are appointed by the Presbytery and include:
- the Chairperson
- the Principal of the Perth Theological Hall
- the Chairperson of the Commission for Education for Discipleship and Leadership
- up to six persons elected annually by the Presbytery.
The Commission may co-opt up to two further members to ensure balanced representation or to provide the Commission with knowledge, abilities or experience which may be helpful and would not otherwise be available.
