WA Rural Ministry Team

The Rural Ministry Team is a small team working within the Uniting Church Presbytery of WA.

The team consists of two people —  Ruth Vertigan and Alistair Melville — who seek to assist rural congregations across WA to share their faith in their local setting.

Most churches in our smaller country towns are without an ordained minister, but still offer vital worship and ministry in their communities. The Rural Ministry Team is available to offer resources, training, support and encouragement to those congregations.

Rural WA covers a vast geographic area and the Uniting Church has many small congregations scattered over the intensive agricultural areas. The Uniting Church presence in the vast area of Northern Western Australia is represented by the work of the Frontier Services patrols who do not form any part of the work of the Rural Ministry Team.
