UNITINGCARE WA BOARD
The UnitingCare WA Board is responsible for developing directions, policy frameworks and overall planning for the Church’s mission in community services within the Synod of WA, while seeking to express the theology and ethos of the Uniting Church.
The Board works co-operatively with the Social Justice Committee to provide advice regarding public statements, submissions and representations concerning matters of social policy and social advocacy.
Members of the Board are appointed by the Synod and include:
- the Chairperson
- the Chief Executive Officer and a Board representative of Good Samaritan Industries, UnitingCare West and Juniper
- a Board representative of UnitingCare Crossroads WA
- the Community Services Consultant (currently Ian Passmore)
- up to four other persons, including at least two with particular skills or expertise or experience in community services not otherwise involved in a Uniting Church community service agency.
The Board may co-opt up to two further members to ensure balanced representation or to provide the Board with knowledge, abilities or experience which may be helpful and would not otherwise be available.
