Event Details
Uniting Church WA’s Social Justice presents #LivesontheLawn, a visual display on the lawn outside St George’s Cathedral in the city, representing the number of refugees and asylum seekers currently in detention or on temporary visas in WA.
The display goes hand-in-hand with Social Justice’s #ADecadeGone social media action for justice for refugees. After nearly 10 years, some refugees and asylum seekers are still seeking freedom and permanency from detention and temporary visa limbo. What freedoms have you enjoyed for the last ten years?
This social media action we ask you to take on 10 April is simple:
- Find a photo of yourself from 10 years ago.
- Post the photo to your Facebook or Instagram on Sunday 10 April 2022 with the suggested wording which you can find on our website – https://justice4refugeeswa.com/palm-sunday-2022/
- Don’t forget to include the hashtags #ADecadeGone #JusticeforRefugeesWA
