Event Details
The keynote speaker for School of Ministry 2022 is Rev Dr Sally Douglas. Sally is an ordained UCA minister who has a placement at Richmond Uniting Church, in the shadow of the MCG. Sally is also a scholar who teaches at Pilgrim College, in New Testament and the author of the book “The Church as SALT”. Watch a video here, where Sally discusses the theme of “SALT”.
Sally will be digging into the image of ‘The Church as Salt’ to help us develop our thinking in developing the kinds of community that Jesus calls us to be. The four keynote talks will be:
- The Church as Salt
- Salty tears and salty wombs
- Salt that preserves
- Seasoning salt
Afternoon workshops will be led by a range of local practitioners. These workshops will drill down to practicalities for thinking about what we can do as a church to see our ministries as salty grounded spaces.
Together we will meet and eat, talk and pray, and be prepared to be salty again within the ministries in which we engage.
You should attend if: you are a Ministry Agent or are working in leadership in a congregation or agency, as a chaplain, or pastor or in a voluntary capacity, or you are active retired clergy. Lay preachers, lay presiders, church council members, and committee convenors are especially encouraged to attend.
School of Ministry 2022 runs from Monday 27 June to Thursday 30 June, 2022.
More information on costs and how to register is available here.
The event will be led by the Commission for Education for Discipleship and Leadership (CEDAL).
