Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ, the head of the church.
My name is Steve Francis. I am the Moderator of the Uniting Church in the Western Australian Synod.
And I want to take this opportunity, to send greetings to you.
The Uniting Church as you know is found in all kinds of places across this State. And at this special time of year, when we celebrate the birth of Christ, I want to bring greetings to you.
You may be in a congregation in a rural area, a remote area, you might be worshipping in a suburban church, you might be part of a multicultural community or you may be one of our Congress congregations.
Wherever you will be at Christmas, I pray that God will bless the services that you take part in and as you reach out to your neighbours, friends and strangers.
You may, of course, be one of the members of our agencies Juniper, Good Samaritan Industries or UnitingCare West.
You may be serving this Christmas, in a chaplaincy, in a home, or a hospital or a prison. Please know that we are thinking of you this Christmas.
And if you serve in one of our school communities, or in theological education, or in the university college, our thoughts and prayers are with you this Christmas.
I love this time of year. It’s a wonderful time of year to celebrate what God has done in sending his son Jesus to be with us.
God is with us, Emmanuel! It’s a time of joy and wonder.
And my hope and prayer is that for your family, for your congregation, for your community you may know the rich blessings of Christ this Christmas and into the New Year.
