Safe Church Refresher Workshops provide updates on relevant legislative changes and recommendations of judicial inquiries, compliance requirements and review of progress towards being a safe church. All church leaders and those involved in ministry with vulnerable children and adults attend an introductory workshop in their first year of ministry and a refresher course every three years.
Ministers, ministry leaders and volunteers, church council members and congregational members who have participated in a full day Safe Church training in 2013, 2014 or 2015 are now due to attend a Safe Church Refresher course.
Both these workshops cover:
- a review of the key safe church messages, principles and policies;
- any developments/changes to legislation, regulations or denominational resource materials/guidelines/codes around protecting children, other vulnerable people and safeguarding anyone interacting with the church community;
- and finally a look at how we are going in an implementation of safe church practices, processes and procedures in our churches, where we are up to, what are the challenges and what help we might require.
RSVP to Cindy Gorton at email@example.com to register for either workshop, noting any special dietary requirements.
