DESCRIPTION:Join us on Easter Sunday at Margaret River Uniting Church for the culmination of a 2-week Art Exhibition titled\, ‘Way of the Cross’ where 15 talented artists have each submitted an artwork depicting Jesus’ pilgrimage from Condemnation to Resurrection (Stations of the Cross). DESCRIPTION:Social Justice Hive Gathering \n\n\n\nThe next Social Justice Hive gathering is on Saturday 2 May at Uniting WA – 10/5 Aberdeen Street\, Perth starting at 10.00am. \n\n\n\nThe theme for our Hive is “Listening for Peace\, Confronting Racism” \n\n\n\nIn the face of escalating war\, racism and intolerance of the Other\, how might our congregations and communities be built for Peace? The Social Justice Commission invite you to conversations on how we might transform church and society into a reflection of the inclusive and equitable reign of God. Engage with three migrants from different religious traditions: John Na’em Snobar\, Palestinian Christian; Maryam Eshghi\, Iranian Baha’i; and Kevin Koay\, Malaysian\, Uniting Church. \n\n\n\nPeople in the Perth metropolitan area are encouraged to attend in person. Join one session or both. \n\n\n\nSession One — 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Understanding and Approaching Conflict \n\n\n\nConflict is a natural part of human interaction. It helps us stay safe\, make decisions\, and establish our identity\, but it can also be disruptive within communities. \n\n\n\nIn this session\, you will explore how conflict develops\, the different types of conflict that arise in congregational life\, and ways to approach conflict constructively within your setting. \n\n\n\nSession Two — 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Recognising and Resolving Conflict \n\n\n\nUnderstanding the nature of conflict and selecting an appropriate response provides important tools for addressing difficult situations. \n\n\n\nIn this session\, participants will reflect on what happens within themselves and within groups when conflict occurs.
