DESCRIPTION:The Uniting Centre for Education and Formation invite Lay Preachers to a Peer Supervision Information Session on Saturday 17 May from 9.00am to 12.00pm.  The event will take place at South Perth Uniting Church\, as well as being available online. \n\n\n\nLay Preachers who are preaching regularly are expected to be in a supervision relationship. This can be a difficult requirement to fulfil when for many this is ministry that does not always have financial reward. DESCRIPTION:The Uniting Church WA’s International Partnerships & Development Commission (IPDC) invite you to join them for Trek 4 Timor 2025 on Saturday 17 May starting at 1.00pm! \n\n\n\nTake a walk around the river to raise money for Lafaek Diak’s mobile health clinic in Timor Leste. Operating out of the back of a 4WD\, the clinic works its way around the remote villages of East Timor delivering medical aid and services\, health promotion education and care\, immunisations and clinics. \n\n\n\nStarting at Mount Pleasant Uniting Church\, choose from one of three walk options\, between 6 – 8kms long\, to end up at St Stephen’s Uniting Church in Applecross for afternoon refreshments. \n\n\n\nYou can register to walk and fundraise or simply support this great cause with a donation. DESCRIPTION:Practical Covenanting Busy-Bee\n\n\n\nHave you wondered how you can best support Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC) WA – Congress – and demonstrate your commitment to the Covenant? A great way to show some support is to help with the upcoming Busy-Bee at the Beananging Kwuurt Institute. \n\n\n\nThe site is currently being prepared in anticipation of establishing a Healing Centre for WA Stolen Generations\, a partnership between WA Congress\, BKI and Yokai\, the WA Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation. Services and community meetings have already started being delivered at the site but unfortunately it’s in need of some attention. Let’s help make it more welcoming. \n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday 24 May 9.00am to 2.00pmWhere: Beananging Kwuurt Institute\, 174 Treasure Rd\, Queens Park. \n\n\n\nHelp is needed with the following: \n\n\n\n\nPeople with whipper snippers and rakes and gardening gloves and rubbish bags to help tidy all the tall grass and clean up the litter.\n\n\n\nPeople picking up the dead branches and neatly piling them up (please note that due to the presence of Shothole Borer no greenwaste can leave the site as it is a quarantine zone).\n\n\n\nPeople to help prepare the garden beds ready for planting\, with soil and compost.\n\n\n\nAnd if at all possible\, people to help with any paving or at least neatly stacking the pavers in preparation for re-paving.\n\n\n\n\nLastly\, if physical work is not possible for you\, people are welcome to assist by attending with drinks\, snacks\, and love. \n\n\n\nThis project is also in need of donations – of potting mix\, compost\, wetta soil and mulch.Please consider helping\, even if only for an hour or two. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday 1 June the church will celebrate the 195th anniversary of the first Methodist service in Perth which took place under a jarrah tree in what is now the Hay Street pedestrian mall in the city. The service took place on 6 June 1830\, conducted by Joseph Hardey. \n\n\n\nTo celebrate this milestone there will be a Celebration Service on 1 June at 3.00pm\, with the Uniting Church WA community all welcome to attend. DESCRIPTION:The Presbytery’s Intercultural Network is organising a local celebration for the 40 Anniversary of the Assembly’s 1985 statement\, ‘The Uniting Church is a Multicultural Church’. It will be held on Saturday 7 June (the Saturday before Pentecost Sunday) from 6.00pm at Kardinya Uniting Church. \n\n\n\nThe celebration will consist of a program that will include music and dance from various cultures. It will end with a great time of food and fellowship. You will be able to sample foods from diverse CALD communities. Proceeds from the garage sale go to our emergency food relief program\, which provides food to those in need in our local area. You can also bring non-perishable items to donate to the food program. \nIn conjunction with the Garage Sale\, we will also be hosting ‘The Great Outback BBQ’ raising funds for Frontier Services\, providing support for Aussie farmers doing it tough.
