Applications are invited for a Minister of the Word/Deacon to fill a vacant placement at Toorak Uniting Church (TUC) in Melbourne.

The members of Toorak Uniting Church (TUC) in Melbourne, Australia are looking for our next Minister of the Word. Our church’s campus is full of life, containing a steady number of dedicated parishioners and a vibrant Arts Centre, café, highly sought-after kindergarten, aged care Day Centre, and many visitors weekly via events ranging from exercise classes to bridge-playing sessions.

We currently offer two worship services each Sunday. Baptisms, weddings and funerals are a significant part of our church’s mission. We run quarterly classical musical events arranged by our Director of Music.  TUC is a progressive church built on the foundations of community, contemporary understanding of the Bible and a commitment to outreach and service.

Our congregation, whilst embracing our Uniting Church faith traditions, looks to the future. We seek to be a broadly inclusive and welcoming congregation. We are a founding member of the Toorak Ecumenical Movement, which has recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.

TUC is looking for someone who is committed to revitalising our congregation with energy and fresh ideas. We want someone who will lead, manage and nurture not only our congregation but also engage with the wider community; someone willing to be present, energised by and immersed in this community. We seek a leader with a strong pastoral presence, from a broad-minded theological background, with good interpersonal skills.
