Uniting College for Leadership & Theology exists to develop life-long disciples and effective leaders for a healthy, missional church, who are passionate, Christ-centred, highly skilled and mission-orientated practitioners. The College offers a range of ways to learn and grow as a leader, through accredited course providers Adelaide College of Divinity and Finders University, and through non-accredited courses for the Uniting Church.
An opportunity exists for a Principal who is an enthusiastic, gifted leader to articulate a clear and compelling vision for the College and to actively lead a team of academics and staff, to inspire and empower the College to develop effective leaders within the church.
The Principal will strategically lead the College with innovative responses to the vision and strategic priorities of the Synod of South Australia, and in ways that are consistent with the polity and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia.
The Principal will be a teaching member of faculty and an active HDR supervisor with both Flinders University and the Adelaide College of Divinity. Working alongside the Aboriginal Theologian in Residence to actively promote the Centre of Aboriginal Spirituality within the College, also forms a vital part of this position.
Reporting to the General Secretary, the Principal will provide management to enable effective administration and regulatory compliance. There will be requirements for the Principal to serve on boards and committees of the Uniting Church, the Adelaide College of Divinity and Flinders University.
It is essential the successful applicant will have experience in a similar position within an academic institution or Higher Education sector; coupled with a doctoral degree in ministry or relevant discipline. An active membership and participation within Uniting Church congregation or faith community, and a commitment to the reformed and evangelical faith and traditions, are also essential. Familiarity with e-learning tools will be a significant advantage to ensure success in this position.
