The Uniting Church in Western Australia is currently seeking a visionary and strategically oriented person for the Presbytery Officer position.
The core purpose of the position is to provide leadership of the Presbytery Staff team in order to resource the life and mission of the Presbytery of Western Australia and implementing the Strategic Mission Directions of the Presbytery. The Presbytery Officer will also be responsible ensuring that appropriate support and resourcing is provided to rural congregations and faith communities so they are enabled to engage in worship, witness and service as the people of God in their communities.
Applicants need to be members of the Uniting Church in Australia (Lay or Ordained), passionate about and committed to the church and Christ’s mission in the world, and, as such, would be a person of prayer with a commitment to Jesus’ call to make disciples. We also expect the successful applicant to have a commitment to work ecumenically.
Applicants need to have demonstrated skills in providing management and oversight of staff and preferably in a collaborative team leadership role. They also need to have experience of ministry in rural areas and living and working in a rural community is preferable. The right applicant preferably has qualifications in Theology. If the person is a Minister of the Word or Deacon, the Appointment will be considered a Placement. If the person is a lay member of the Uniting Church, this will be considered as an appropriate position for a Pastor and the person will be expected to meet all the criteria to be a Pastor.
