Special Services coming up later this year will be –
September 5th (which is Fathers’ Day) the Rev. Steve Francis will be leading our worship at Scarborough. Steve has been a past Moderator of the Uniting Church in W.A. We always look forward him leading our worship as Scarborough was Steve’s first placement when he was ordained as a Minister of the Word.
The Watermans Bay congregation will join this service.
September 26th will be a special Harvest Festival Service at Scarborough led by Elder Darren Mouchemore when we will be inviting past members of our congregation to join us.
Food displayed will be a mixture of fresh produce and non perishable and after the service will be taken to Uniting Aid in Nollamara which is a Centre sponsored by the Uniting Churches to provide practical assistance, and financial and other support to people in need living in the City of Stirling. Members of our congregation volunteer there on Friday mornings as there is also an Op Shop operating there. The Centre is open Tuesday and Friday mornings 9.00am to 11.45am.
Members of both our congregations at Watermans Bay and Scarborough bring non-perishable food items to our churches each Sunday and this is taken to Uniting Aid as ongoing support all year.
October 24th – the current Moderator of the Uniting Church in WA, Mrs Susy Thomas, will be leading our worship at Scarborough. Mrs Thomas was a past Director of Drug Arm. Denis and Ruth Guyatt who worship at Scarborough worked with Drug Arm for many years and know Mrs Thomas well. Their work for Drug Arm was acknowledged by two Drug Arm Houses in Geraldton being named after them, The Ruth House and The Denis House.

This service will be led by Darren Mouchemore C St John who has been a Volunteer for St John for 67years and is a Commander of the West Australian Order of St John.
It is our intention to invite past members of our congregation to this service also.
