Join us for our 2019 Women’s Weekend Away from Friday evening to Sunday early afternoon on the weekend of 21-23 June 2019.
The weekend is open to interested women from any church or spiritual tradition, and women wanting to explore faith from any perspective. It is always a joyful and inspiring time away from the usual pressures of life. All meals are provided, the accommodation is warm and welcoming, and the weekend is filled with friendship, laughter and learning, providing us with rich food for thought along the way.
This year’s theme – Weaving Wisdom and Wonder
During the weekend we will explore how our life stories interweave with our faith stories. Together, we will discover how to create wonderful patterns of wisdom and wonder at God’s grace and hope in everyday situations. We will spend time learning how faith stories through the ages have encouraged and motivated people – even people with a negative view of life. We will engage in creative expressions of faith and story-telling, we will listen with wonder and expectation to stories of faith, and journey together through a weekend of fellowship, food and fun.
Our leader for the weekend – Rev Dr Emma Matthews
Rev Dr Emma Matthews is a minister of the Uniting Church serving on the Education Team for the Presbytery of WA. She is a trained teacher, counsellor and group facilitator, and she enjoys leading retreats encouraging people to connect with God creatively, cognitively and collectively.
