The Uniting Church in Australia is committed to working toward a just and peaceful world.
This commitment arises from the Christian belief that liberation from oppression and injustice is central to the mission of God through Jesus Christ.
To help us progress the justice issues of concern to us and to resource and educate congregations, the WA Synod has appointed a Social Justice Commission.
The Social Justice Commission (SJC) is appointed by the Synod to work for reconciliation, justice and peace and involves the Church in social and national affairs.
The SJC does this in practical ways by identifying issues, undertaking research, conducting advocacy, developing resources, organising events and promoting awareness.

Each year, our team hosts and assists a number of events such as Sorry Day, Anti-Poverty Week and the Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees.
These events are designed to promote awareness, provide engagement opportunity and ultimately seek change for the people who need it.
