Two training days will be held for lay preachers and other lay leaders on 22 October and 26 November. The workshops will be led by Rev Dr Geoffrey Lilburne*. The workshops will run from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. You are encouraged to attend in person to take full advantage of this training event, and to meet with others who are pursuing God’s call to leadership. The workshops will also be made available on Zoom for those unable to physically attend.

A range of topics will be covered at this workshop, including: the challenges of preaching; sermon preparation and delivery; uses of scripture; and a chance to practice new skills with others. The cost is $20. Morning and afternoon tea is included.  Please bring your own lunch. Email pa.education@wa.uca.org.au to register.

*Geoffrey Lilburne is Minister of the Word who has previously served as Director of Lay and Continuing Education, and as Lecturer in Practical Theology at the Perth Theological Hall. He is a teacher, poet, farmer and friend to all who would learn more of the way of Christ and Christ’s service. Recently he has published with Coventry Press, Joy Interrupted: A Memoir of Depression and Prayer  (2018) and Pray without Ceasing: A Life of Prayer (2022).
