Albany Uniting Church is delighted to present a chamber concert this Christmas, with the spirited local ensemble Albany Chamber Orchestra. Conducted by renowned Perth conductor Burhan Güner, this concert will celebrate not only the joy of Christmas, but of our musical community – we farewell violinist Freya Swarbrick in her final performance before she leaves Albany, welcome back a number of former members, and a number of talented young students.
This stunning lineup will perform Respighi’s beautiful Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No. 3, an exquisite Classical Period Adagio for Clarinet and Strings performed by Alan Burnfield, and several works by local composer and Church member Sebastian Harris. These will include the world premiere of Don’t Laugh, commissioned for brilliant local cellist Julie Parish, Remembrance, written for the Orchestra in 2018.
