About the Uniting Church Investment Fund

Our mission is to generate great returns for our investors and our Church by providing competitive interest rates, personal service and excellent investment security.

Ultimately, we exist to promote the work of the Uniting Church Western Australia and our customers are essential to making that happen.

UCIF offers a range of investment and loan terms, designed to meet the needs of our Uniting Church Congregations, Presbyteries, Schools, Agencies and Employees.

All investments with the UCIF are held under the Uniting Church in Australia Property Trust (WA), which is the body corporate incorporated by statute for the Western Australian Synod of the Uniting Church in Australia. Investments are managed by a committee appointed by the Synod, or by an investment manager the committee appoints.

Will My Money be Safe?

UCIF is managed by a committee of professional people who are well-versed in financial matters, especially financial investment, economics, and real estate. The committee are committed to acting responsibly, ethically and with the highest standards of integrity to ensure our activities reflect our values and beliefs and protect the interest of investors and organisations who rely on us.

This is achieved with sound corporate governance and business practices. Our governance framework establishes the policies, guidelines and practices that underpin the activities of the Uniting Church Investment Fund in WA. Our investment portfolio is designed to be both profitable and secure.

Investments are not secured by a government guarantee; however, repayment of investments is due from the Uniting Church in Australia Property Trust (WA), which owns the assets of the Western Australian Synod.

You should be made aware that some of the regulatory and prudential protections for investors being the benefit of the financial claims scheme or the depositor protection provisions in the Banking Act 1959 do not apply to the UCIF. View our Identification Statement for details of our regulatory requirements.

Are there any fees?

There are no cheque or administration fees and no government charges, however the Committee does reserve the right to review and amend fees/charges at any time. Any change to the current policy will be advised on this website and communication with our investors.

Is UCIF an Ethical Investment?

The Board takes great care to ensure our investments comply with the ethical policies of the Uniting Church.
