A Fresh Look at the Basis of Union
September 26 @ 9:00 am – September 28 @ 4:00 pm
The Basis of Union, the founding document of the Uniting Church in Australia, is a rich and profound text that offers as much today as it did at Union.
These three days led by Assoc Prof Geoff Thompson of Pilgrim Theological College, will bring the Basis to life and explore its continuing relevance for our Church today. Day One and Two (26th and 27th) will provide an overview of the Basis and the history which brought it into being. Day Three (28th) will look at some contemporary implications and how the Basis relates to current Uniting Church issues.
Whether this is your first exposure to the Basis of Union or you are coming back to it again, these three days will offer a fresh way of looking at this foundational document. All are welcome!
