About Perth Woori Church (Korean Uniting Church)

Perth Woori Church is a vibrant, faithful Korean Christian congregation rooted in God’s love and gospel truth in Kardinya, Perth, Western Australia. We belong to the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA), established in 1977 through the union of Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregational churches.

Built upon orthodox evangelical and reformed traditions under the supreme authority of Scripture, our denomination values unity, inclusion, and the autonomy of multicultural immigrant communities. Guided by this heritage and vision, we are seeking a dedicated Assistant Pastor (Full-time) whose primary focus is to support and nurture our Next Generation members (1.5 and 2nd generation youth/young adults).

Key Responsibilities

  • Next Generation & Youth Ministry — Oversee and shepherd Sunday School, Junior/Senior High Youth, and Young Adults ministries (worship leadership, preaching, Bible study, and discipleship)
  • Bilingual Pastoral Care — Provide pastoral care, counseling, and mentorship in both Korean and English
  • Worship Leadership — Lead praise and worship for youth/young adult services (and main church services as required); assist the Senior Pastor in scheduled services (currently Sunday and Wednesday), and special prayer meetings.
  • Pastoral Administration — Plan and as appropriate deliver departmental events, seasonal programs, digital/media promotion, visitation, and church administration

Key Selection Criteria

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year university or higher theological qualifications from an accredited orthodox evangelical/reformed theological seminary
  • Experience – Minimum 2 years of full-time ministry or departmental ministry experience in a recognized orthodox denomination (Presbyterian, Methodist, Holiness, Pentecostal, Baptist, etc.)
  • Language – Fluency in both Korean and English (spoken and written) suitable for multicultural and bilingual ministry settings

Desirable – Proven ability to lead worship with musical instruments or live session band experience • Prior ministry experience in a multicultural or diaspora/immigrant church environment
