Join us at Summer Spirit 2024 on Friday 9 February and Saturday 10 February – a weekend that unites the vibrant community of the Uniting Church in Western Australia around the compelling theme: “True to Yourselves, True to Your Faith: Navigating Authenticity in a Diverse World.”
This year, we delve into the profound challenge of maintaining authenticity amidst the complexities of a rapidly changing, diverse society.
Summer Spirit 2024 will offer an enriching program designed to inspire, educate, and empower as we celebrate our commitment to multicultural inclusivity and theological diversity. Our keynote speaker will provide insightful presentations on the nuances of authenticity in faith and life.
Various workshops will be on offer, tailored to the needs and interests of our community, focusing on the ministries and mission of our local congregations.

Guest Speaker – Rev Dr Christy Capper
Rev Dr Christy Capper is an Anglican Priest currently serving as the Deputy Warden, Academic Dean, and Lecturer in Systematic Theology at Wollaston Theological College.
From 2016 to 2022, Christy worked as the Director of Missiology and later as the Vice-Principal of Uniting College for Leadership and Theology in Adelaide. Christy has previously worked in university ministry, as a youth and young adults pastor, and as an assistant minister at St Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne.
Christy has a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma in Arts (theology) and a Master of Arts in Church Practice from Tabor Victoria, a Master of Theology and PhD from the University of Divinity and a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching from UWA. Christy’s doctoral work focused on the theological imperative to authentic selfhood.
Christy has lived in Perth for only 18 months but is enjoying getting to know a new city and state with her cavoodle Diogenes (Dodge).
