Volunteers Needed for the Fremantle Fijian National Conference 2026

From 1 – 4 October 2026, the Uniting Church in Western Australia will host the Uniting Church Fijian National Conference at the Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle. More than 600 delegates from across Australia will attend this significant gathering of worship, fellowship, learning and celebration.

To extend a warm Western Australian welcome, we are seeking volunteers from across the Uniting Church to assist throughout the conference. Whether you can offer a few hours or several days, there is a role for you.

Volunteer Roles to Suit Different Abilities

We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities. Roles are available for people with a range of interests, skills and physical abilities, including:

  • Mainly seated roles – assisting with children’s activities, helping supervise so children stay in designated areas, and supporting registration.
  • Standing with opportunities to sit – welcoming and ushering delegates during busy periods, providing directions, and assisting attendees during conference sessions.
  • Mostly on-your-feet roles – helping direct delegates to buses, assisting with pedestrian crossings between venues, and supporting crowd flow.
  • More active roles – assisting delegates with luggage, helping with arrivals and departures, and helping set-up and pack-down.
