The Missional Property Fund is here to help congregations improve, develop, buy, or lease property that strengthens the mission of the church.
Missional Property Fund: Supporting Congregation Mission
The Missional Property Fund is designed to provide congregations with funds to improve, develop, purchase, or lease property directly linked to enhancing the mission of the church. It must align with your congregation’s mission plan approved by the Presbytery Thrive committee.
The detail is in the application guide:
We encourage congregations to consider how this fund can help extend your vital work and further the mission of the Uniting Church in Western Australia.
In the past, there were “Embargoed Funds” linked to individual congregations. The Missional Property Fund replaces these and is now open to all Uniting Church WA congregations.
When a congregational property is sold, the net proceeds go into the Missional Property Fund, less 5% which goes to the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress (UAICC) Property Development Fund and 9% which goes to the Synod Property Services Fund.
What Can the Fund Do?
The Missional Property Fund can provide:
- Grants
- Loans
- Shared equity arrangements
Your congregation can also apply for feasibility funding to explore ideas – such as preparing a business case, engineering assessments, or concept designs.
A Missional Property Fund grant can be submitted in conjunction with a Future Mission Fund grant, for example use the Future Mission Fund grant to support ongoing mission/ministry, and use the Missional Property Fund to fund property works.
How to Apply for a Grant
